Established in 1998 as an SAP HCM focused implementation and consulting organisation, ROC successfully expanded into Europe, India, Australia & America before being acquired by Zalaris in 2017. Since its acquisition, services in the UK have expanded from SAP HCM Payroll and SAP SuccessFactors consulting and support to include implementation of the Zalaris multi-country HR & Payroll Cloud solution, which can be deployed as either a Software as a Service (SaaS) option where the customer can administer HR and payroll themselves or a comprehensive Business Process Outsource (BPO) option where Zalaris can administer HR and payroll on behalf of the customer.

As regional EVP, Stephen Burr is responsible for growing our UK market, as well as developing and growing operations in Ireland. With over two decades of experience in HR and Payroll technologies, Stephen has collaborated with a diverse range of companies across various industries. 

Stephen is a member of Zalaris’ Group Leadership team and plays a crucial role in working with Zalaris customers to help them understand how digital solutions can offer real business impact, whether it be delivering SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HCM and/or SAP Payroll consulting and support services, or utilising Zalaris’ PeopleHub SaaS and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services.

Marston’s have been both a long-standing SAP payroll and HR customer of Zalaris.

Operations included 140,000-time records from 14,500 employees, pensioners and those on zero-hours contracts, processing 3,500 leave requests and up to 1,500 new hires and rehires a month.

Due to a change in the business, Marstons had just 10 months to separate its systems from the Carlsberg part of the business. Using this as an opportunity for improvement, Marston’s sought to transform payroll and HR onto Zalaris’ platform whilst removing its own data centre with more than 19 interfaces and moving premises.

Their previous payroll setup relied on third-party payroll bureaus across different countries, with manual processes on shared drives and data transfers between teams.
